With temperatures in the Bay Area topping 90 degrees, the ski season
feels a long way off, yet, here it is again--Labor Day Weekend and
that means tent sales. This year, we even have SOTC special deep
discounts at Sports Basement and Homewood.
What's a tent sale you ask? Every Labor Day Weekend, ski retailers
and ski resorts cart out all the gear they didn't sell last season,
set up mammoth tents in their parking lots, and blow it out at,
well, up to 80% off retail...
Got your interest? Thought so... In addition, many of the retailers
and resorts sell last year's demo and rental gear, for ridiculously
low prices. They also offer 2004 gear at up to 40% off. The Sliding

stopped smiling since. Who'd have thought you could get a season

Diamond Peak hosts 2nd Annual Outdoor Gear Swap Incline Village,NV:
Saturday, September 13 from 8am until noon, Diamond Peak will open
its parking lot for the 2nd Annual Outdoor Gear Swap. The public
is welcome to bring any outdoor gear that can fit into 1 parking
space. Skis, snowboards, kayaks, golf clubs, any type of outdoor
gear is welcome as long as it fits into one parking space. Large
boats or RVs will be not be allowed. There is no entry fee and
Diamond Peak will not keep any commission. All items must be removed
from the parking lot at the end of the swap. The Diamond Peak Ski
Education Foundation will have a bake sale set up featuring Krispy
Kreme doughnuts and Starbucks coffee. They will also be holding a
car wash in the upper parking lot. All Proceeds will benefit the
